ACE Design & Build Ltd started life as Ace Joinery and was founded in 2002 by Allan Wright.

Allan was an ambitious self-employed joiner who was awarded his first contract with Carevalue Limited, working on a project called Sandaire House in Kendal town centre, Cumbria. The contract was a conversion of a multi-story office building into flats with industrial units on the ground floor. It was very challenging, but due to Allan's drive, skills, outgoing and friendly attitude his team produced amazing results.

From the successful completion of this contract Allan won several contracts working with local companies such as Cox and Allen Builders, Eric Wright Group, Robert Hughes Limited. As the success continued, Allan's team of joiners soon expanded as he carefully selected hard working, good quality operatives, that would ensure the customers continued to receive same high level of service that Carevalue Limited received during the first contract.

As the business grew greater administrative and accounting support was supplied by Allan's wife Ellie who has been key in developing effective administrative systems to ensure that the back office works in synergy with the site teams. Another family member John, Allan's younger brother qualified as an Architectural Technologist in 2003 and after gaining some industry experience in his field he joined the firm in 2008. John has joined at an exciting time when Ace Joinery seeks to enter new markets and develop its range of services. This was initially achieved in early 2010 when the company expanded to include various departments and re-branded to what is now known as ACE Design & Build Ltd.

This change has been driven by Ace Joinery's expansion and now includes Ace Electrical & Alarms, run by yet another brother David. For the previous 4 years David has run his own business successfully in and around Cumbria and is fully Napit registered and undertakes a wide range of domestic, industrial and commercial aspects of work. The range of jobs includes domestic installations, such as kitchens and showers, to office PAT testing and 3 rd party inspections. Recently larger commercial contracts have been completed as this department continues to grow utilizing the experienced electricians the company has available.

Other departments included are; Ace Planning & Design, Ace Glazers & Ace Dry Lining. Although these departments are in their infancy it is hoped that using the skills that have made Ace Joinery and Ace Electrical so successful will drive these companies to not only feed the other departments but also provide an all inclusive construction package.

All these services are supported enormously by our office support staff and also our in-house Quantity Surveyor; Mike Jackson. These key members of the team allow the smooth running of our on-site teams and provide.
